Christian Fong, a former Underwood resident who was involved in athletics as a runner during his high school and college days, has decided to enter a new kind of race – this time for governor.

    RED OAK – A 15 year-old minor was cited and released Wednesday after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving, resulting in a rollover accident and causing minor injuries to himself and a passenger.

After years during which California officials battled unsuccessfully with the Environmental Protection Agency, the EPA on Tuesday finally gave the go-ahead for California to impose stringent regulations on greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles. More importantly, the EPA decision is expected to set the stage for a national requirement that would mirror California’s effort.
